Hi All. Thanks for letting me join the forums.
I am a new owner of a lovely little 1979 MGB GT in Tartan Red with a chrome bumper conversion. A first venture into the world of British Classic cars after decades playing around with aircooled VWs.
I am slowly working my way through checking everything on the car and finding out why my father (now in his 80s) exclaimed “NO Don’t Do It. There’s a reason British Leyland went out of business!!!” when I told him I was buying the MGB.
Too late!! Nostalgia got the better of me and memories of rattling around in my his Morris 1100, Austin Avenger, Maxi, Allegro and Morris Oxford took over (he had terrible taste in cars but patriotic in his choices if nothing else).
Anyway I’m in the club now and have a feeling it will be difficult to get out!!! Let the fun begin.
