Hello, My name is Greg and I own a 1978 MGB which I acquired in the early 1990s. I would like to post a question about converting an aftermarket electronic ignition system to just an electronic distributor. The question will be forthcoming when I am sure where to post it.

You'll probably find good ideas by asking in the MG area:


Electronic ignition systems are always a fun topic. Many guys give up on them, and go back to traditional points systems.

as a 1978 it should have an electronic ignition from the factory. Oh and welcome!

Drove this sweetheart since mid 90s without any electrical issues. It has since quit running twice. No power to the plugs. I removed the distributor and Lumenition. The old distributor had three wires with one running from the tachometer to the lumenition. The replacement distributor I’m installing only has two wires. I cannot figure out how to wire new one. The old one had an amplifier attached. H
