I'm quite familiar with the KC135 airplane, since it is the same (almost) as the Boeing 707 I flew when I first came to Pan American in 1964. I then went on to fly 737, 727, and 747 (all Boeing airplane, of course). All guages were analog, and termed today as "steam powered". Retired in 1989 at age 54--before the advent of the all glass, computer generated cockpits became ubiquitous for all new generation airplanes, both large and small.--
I flew during what is now called "the golden age of flying"--before that--Navy Lockheed 121 Superconnie--Douglas DC6, and DC7--piston airplanes, round guages, and steam powered of course--I tell my wife that the aforementioned piston airplanes were the "Morris Minors" of the jet age--
