Good morning BCF, got up early while my brain is fresh so I can follow Basils tutorial for new member posting. Just purchased a TR3A from BAT after watching and bidding for years. After college, flush with money after bring home more than minimum wage and living close enough to work I could ride my bike I purchased my first TR4 from Triumph Nut in Marysville CA. Over the early years I owned a TR4, TR4 IRS and a TR 250. Once work started demanding more of my time and we started a family I moved on to more reliable family transportation (SUVs). My daughter got a little older, my wife started driving the family car and I worked my way up from Miata to Honda S 2000 to 911 and Corvette Grand Sport.
A TR3 was a bucket list item and I watched for years, drove a couple hundred miles to look at a few, submitted bids and worked on storage as we have a two car garage with an SUV, 2016 Boxster Spyder and Ridgeline. I figured out I could park two sports cars side by side on one side of the garage and my wife could still get in and out on her side and as I’m turning 70 with fears of not being able to get in and out finally pulled the trigger.
Still sorting out my purchase and hope to get it on a lift for better inspection but overall quite pleased. Toby Allan from Canada, we were right. There were two body panel imperfections but they appear to be were someone/something pushed on the panel as with a little pressure on the inside of the panel it popped back (the other has a little crease on the top so I’ll get some help on it). Still waiting on paperwork so I can register here in the foothills of South Carolina but have put 20 miles driving around our gated community. Won’t be going 120 mph like the Boxster, but steering with the oversized bus steering wheel, hearing the leaves crushing beneath the tires and reaching down to touch the ground is an amazing experience. But remember not to park in your friends new driveway because you’ll autograph it with a little oil.

welcome - great story and great wisdom already!
