Greetings, fellow LBC fans. I started down this slippery slope about 25 years ago with a '69 MGB-GT. I now have a '57 TR3, '72 Triumph Spitfire (my son's daily driver), '74.5 MGB-GT (my daughter's daily driver), '87 Jag XJ6 and an'04 MINI. Needless to say, Moss Motors and the Roadster Factory are on speed dial! Living in Arizona we don't really have a hibernation period for our cars, although old, open cars aren't much fun when it's 115 degrees so our local activities become less frequent in the summer. I've enjoyed reading the posts on this site, and figured it's time to introduce myself and start to be more interactive.
I suppose my real interest is my TR3. It's not really even a '57... more of a Heinz 57. It's a "small mouth" '60 TR3A with many earlier styling cues, so calling it a '57 prompts fewer confused questions. I'm not a purist, in that I feel that any modification to MY car that makes it more usable/fun for ME is OK. It's "apple green" with a tan interior, alloy sebring-style wheels, rack and pinion steering conversion, 2188cc pistons, Toyota 5-speed conversion (thank you Bill Close!) and other such "upgrades". Since it's "restoration" in 2004 it's covered about 28,000 miles, including a trip from here (outside Phoenix) to Branson, MO for the '04 TRA nationals, Triumphests in San Diego, Buelton, and Laughlin and a summer vacation to Tahoe and down through central California.
Most of those trips were with 4.11 gears and before the 5-speed conversion! Somehow I've convinced my long-suffering wife that driving it to the TRA Nat's this summer (in West Virginia) would be a fun adventure, so we'll be meeting some of you right-coast enthusiasts (if we succeed in getting there)!

Welcome, Stu! With your stable, looks like you'll fit right in here. Long-suffering is right! That's a looooonnnggg way to go in a sidescreen, but as you've already made other distance runs, you've probably got the routine down. Being the wimpy type, I sold my '57 and bought a TR8.

Glad to have you aboard!

Welcome to the Forum! I understand that last post..we went to AZ in July and I remember my flip-flops begining to melt on the hot asphalt. I am sure your wife will enjoy the break from the heat. This is a great site with fabulous fellow enthusiasts with a tremendous wealth of knowledge. Together, they know just about everything! Glad to have you aboard.

Howdy Stu,

"WELCOME" to the "BCF" from the Pocono Mtns of PA. The new (Crooked) gaming area in the East!! "DON`T ASK"! Its true!

We`d "ALL" love to see some pics of your Stable: So; Don`t be bashful; Post a bunch of them.

Have Fun here as I`m certain you will & get the Kids in on the action as well.

Regards,

Russ

Welcome Stu- my SP.250's share many of the TR-3 parts and concepts. I've done the same as you with my #849 car; R&P, Toy 5-speed, Miata seats, etc. Did it for the same reasons and hope (when it is done) to be able to put on the same kind of miles. The drive to WVa should be a hoot.

Welcome, Stu..we share lots of interests..I also have a '74-1/2 MGBGT & an '87 Jaguar XJ6 though my '69 MG GT is an MGC! Got an MGA Coupe I found in Phoenix - is that your neck of th woods?

Drop on over to the MG or Jag Forums & toss your cars into the mix!

Thanks for the warm welcome, everybody! We look forward to the trip back east, although it's contingent on my getting the correct weeks off from work next summer... I'll know in a couple of weeks how I fared on the vacation board. I'll try to get some pics up soon, but I'm a bit of a Luddite and not that computer savvy!
