Hello to everyone-
I just became aware of this site and though it was time to join the fun. I am ending my six year resto on a '73 TR6. The "nice lady" I bought it from told me she left her husbands car outside for three years with the top down to get even with him.... I ended up with his misery.
At this point the car is looking better than new. EVERYTHING has been rebuilt or repaired.
Now I have a question.... I am at the point of springing for a new interior. I have narrowed it down to either Aldridge Trimming or Prestige Auto Trim. Can anyone comment on either of them? I must say I am leaning towards Aldridge since they do a complete leather seat. Your comments are welcome.

I have been to the Aldridge factory in Wolverhampton (my home town) and I was MIGHTILY impressed with their operation. They have the original blueprints for the interiors and they follow them exactly, but using materials that are better than the originals. It all really is made in the UK, it's not a big company but they have the right attitude. And the smell in there? Do you like leather? :laugh:

Sounds as if you're on th' "down-hill side" of the project.

We're an enthusiastic lot, so don't hesitate to jump right in. There are a few TR owners over in the Triumph forum who could benefit from your recent experience with that car.

Yes, you are correct.... on the downhill side! It's been a six year uphill, and now I might even get to drive it soon!!

Welcome to the best site on the net. I too prefer leather to cloth or vinyl. So many seem to confuse the hot when it's hot and cold when it's cold, vinyl with leather. Leather adjusts to body temp quickly and breathes well and doesn't get sticky like vinyl. And of course leather is much more durable than cloth, especially cloth that is exposed to sunlight. Again welcome and jump right in.

Hi, and welcome to the Forum!! You're in Lancaster, not that far from quite a few of us. When you get the Trimuph running you should take it over to the Gettysburg area, lot of great roads!

NO, not the porch swings.... real men don't use engines :lol: I do indeed fly the real ones.
Any advice on how to post some photos? I did try but got an error message saying they were too big... help

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, every now and then I do fly gliders... much prefer them to engines. Very peacful, and besides, I tell the wife I may crash, but never burn :laugh:

I've developed a real allergy t' TREES.

I'm sure ya know one of the very most important rules about flying... ANY flying.

"Stay in the middle of th' BLUE part". The edges are dangerous.
 
Great idea about coming to G'burg. When is it? I really don't know if I'll be ready in time... still have the complete interior to order and install :wall:

I also have my glider rating and single engine rating. I prefer no motor also.

They have a car show (British) there every year, but I heard it was canceled this year - I think they lost the site that hosted them. They say that they will be back up next year. It's still a great ride, though.
