Hello guys. I just came aboard, reffered t by a 6 pack member (TR6's).
Well I've been restoring a 73 TR6 for the last 5 years (very slow). I've done most of the work except for the engine rebuild and most of the body work. It is a body off restoration...I am picky. The body only had three rust holes the size of a quarter. The body work was started at a local body shop in Patillas....he was taking his time...and two years later he tells me he cant finish it. So (very upset) I took it home where I've done the chassis tear down, sandblasted painted with POR15 (I am the distributor on the Island)and all new suspension.
I'm getting ready to start the engine( it's on the chassis) within the next few weeks.
Wish me luck.

Regards,

Vic

Welcome, Vic. You need to get in touch with Dale (Tinster) up in Bayamon. You can read of his ongoing struggle with his TR6 in the Triumph section.
Once again, welcome.
Jeff

Welcome to the best forum in the world
Get in touch with Tinster in Bayamon.
I am coming down from Canada on the 20TH of Oct. and if at all possible, maybe we could all get together for a talk.
This place will give you all the help you need.
WELCOME DAVE

Welocme - absolutely get in touch with Dale

Counting you, I think we have 2 members from PR. As has been stated, you'll want to get in touch with Tinster here. Be sure to start posting your questions, etc., in the Triumph forum as well!

Hi Vic;

Welcome to the BCF from the Pocono Mtns of PA:

I just can`t believe you don`t know "Tinster" (aka, Dave): Puerto Rico is not a big Island & I can only guess there are`nt too many LBCs there! Are there?

Anyways; Good Luck with your project: As all had mentioned here; Get in touch with "Tinster" as you both probably can assist ea. other in a Great way!!!!

Regards, Russ

Hey Victor!!

Welcome aboard- you found the perfect forum.
A whole bunch of friendly help available.

I live on the other side of the island, Bayamon,
and I have a very capable Jeep Wrangler that can
drive over the mountain to the Hot side of the island.

I know almost nothing about auto mechanics but I can
now hold my weight in a few areas of TR6 stuff.

By now you have my personal e-mail.

Get in touch.

Welcome aboard, Dale is a great guy and makes our forum so much more interesting, he has some great stories and tribulations.

Sounds like you are doing a great job on the TR, all of the above is true with one addition, we love pictures.

Nice to have you here.
Patrick

Welcome to the Forum, Vic.
My 1987 TVR 280i originated in Puerto Rico with its first owner and then went to the Virgin Islands before coming over to the States in 1999.
Hope you enjoy the Forum.

WOW! I'm overwelmed by the welcomes.
There are quite a few other british car owners on the Island, mostly MGs and Triumphs. I haven't come across Dale yet. I'm sure we will. I understand there is a club on the Island. There website https://www.prbritishclub.org hasnt been updated for a while but they do get together for the main auto shows. I've gotten to know most of them because I distribute POR15 (rust preventive paint) in the Caribbean.
As soon as I figure out how to post some pics I'll let you know.

By the way I installed the intake, exhaust manifold and carbs this weekend....getting closer to startup.

Vic

Hi Vic;

Its quite amazing that you "Have Not" met with "Tinster" (aka, Dale)at a show or some sort of Brit Car Outing!

After reading a couple thousand of his threads; My impression was that he had the only LBC in PR:

Your progress is impressive & I`m quite certain the two of you could surely use ea. others assistance!

Regards, Russ

Hey, there are still people who own MG's who live near me who I've not yet met - & I'm "the Autoist".

Welcome to the Forum! Now we know for sure that there are at least two LBC's down there.
