Hi everyone

My name is Dave and I am a retired engineering consultancy business owner, and I have always had an interest in sports cars, both old and new. I have recently restored a 1972 US Spec TR6 and have now embarked on a UK 1955 TR2 which was built 1 month after I was born! It is a car which was originally registered about 100 miles from where I live and has had only three owners previous to me. I have been repairing and restoring old British cars as a hobby, on and off, for the best part of 50 years but through forums such as this, learn something new every day.
i hope I will be able to contribute to this forum.
Best wishes
Dave

Welcome and definitely need photos!

Thanks for the kind welcome.

My 6 with a few small jobs and adjustments left to do and the 2 as it arrived. It was rebuilt to be a “user” rather than a show car and I have driven it quite a bit this summer although it is now in it’s carcoon for the winter. The 2 is a stalled restoration with much of the hard work done but not all to an acceptable standard. It has been painted, apparently professionally as I have an invoice for that work, but I am shocked at the poor quality. The prep has been very poor and I will take the paint off most of the outer panels so that they can be better fettled and fitted. There is a long way to go.

Best wishes Dave

Dave - Welcome to BCF. What a great find - a 1955 TR2. Lots of history there.

You're in Richmond UK? That's quite a distance from North Yorkshire!

Good to have you with us.
Tom M. (with some Huddersfield roots)

Hi Tom
Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated.
There is a Richmond in North Yorks too! It is about 40 miles north of Leeds and 40 miles south of Durham, my home city. We are on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, fabulous driving and biking roads with spectacular scenery.
Best
Dave
