NEW MEMBER FROM NEW JERSEY

Hello. Just purchased a 1966 3000 MK3. Owned a 63 many years ago. Having a few issues trying to get sorted out. Was not running and no brake pedal. Car looks good and hoping to get it to run as good as it looks. Moss and I are becoming great friends and trying to learn to navigate the forum.

welcome - and a great car. Hopefully not too far from running smoothly.

Rebuilt the carbs and still have the issue with fuel coming from overflow tube and car barely starting. Wondering if the carb pistons are just worn out. Seems as fuel is not being drawn into the engine. No one in my area works on Healeys. I am a retired mechanic but this has got me stumped.

also, is the fuel pump new? they only need 2-4 lbs of pressure and many generic pumps produce more than that.

Thanks for the reply. The floats are new and the fuel pressure is 3 psi. It is running extremely rich and does not seem to take adjustment. i did notice one of the pistons has some wear at the top ridge rings. Pondering new carbs but did not plan on that 3K expense.

Welcome to BCF! As for navigating this forum, it's pretty straight forward, but take a look in our "FORUM Navigation Videos" forum where you will find a bunch of videos "how to" topics.
