NEW MEMBER FROM NEW JERSEY WITH A TRIBUTE TO THE AH 3000 RALLY

My first car in 1974 was a '74 Nova SS and it wasn't until 30 years later that I got the bug for classics, my first being a '71 BMW 2002. A few years later I acquired a '66 VW Karmann Ghia Coupe resto-rod now in possession of my son. I was always attracted to the beauty and drivability of British roadsters such as the TR4a, Spitfire, early Sprite, MGA and the AH 100/3000 especially after driving my older sisters TR6 when along came a 3000 replica in the form of a Classic Roadsters Sebring 5000 powered by a '66 Ford 289HP and a Ford Racing 5 speed. It was love at first site. And while its not the real McCoy, it resembles it enough and is a blast to drive. What the Shelby Cobra might have looked like had BMC not turned down Carroll Shelby on using the body and chassis of the Big Healey's for his desired small-block V8-powered racer in the States. This Sebring was manufactured in 1988, assembled in 2002, purchased by me in 2015 and I've driven it now for 8 years, lately with the local chapter of the Austin Healey Sports & Touring Club and the NJ British Car Community Club who have both warmly welcomed me in to their clubs, gatherings and tours. I'm happy to join your forum to keep myself informed of all thing British Roadsters. Appears to be a wealth of information as I keep my eye out for my future two-seater. Sorry for the long introduction.
