Greetings! I just found this forum. Very nice, indeed!
My first car, bought in 1969, was my roommates '57 TR3. I paid $200 and my bicycle. In less than a year, I managed to rear-end a van with it. It wound up at the junk yard. In '71, after rolling a Ford Falcon wagon, I bought another TR3. A '59 this time. In 1972, I ran that one over a 40 foot cliff. Incredibly, I lived through that, and even sold what was left of the car to a neighbor, for parts.
I aged some. Learned how to drive less disastrously, and bought another '59 TR3A in 1984. I drove it for a couple of months but it had enough problems that I decided to "put it away" until I could fix it up right. Last year, I finally got around to doing it. It's all dismantled now. Painting is underway. I hope to have it on the road Summer 2008 sometime.
My patience has provided me a California car that hasn't been on the road since 1984 -- an all-but rust-free restoration project. I'm sure I'll have questions and parts needs. This looks like a fine place to address some of those.
