Hello from Maryland,
I have just joined BCF. I have a Triumph TR-3a, made in October 1960. I have owned the car for about 10 years. I became interested in TR-3 as a kid in the 1960's. A friend's dad had one and a TR-2/3 (small mouth) parts car. The parts car was perfect for a couple of young boys to play in. I was hooked!
I picked mine up after it sat next to a barn, under a tarp, for 18 years. It was "restored" prior to that in the late 1980's. I have paperwork on the car going back to 1988. It took quite awhile to get it back on the road. I have gone thru the mechanicals and the body, replacing some of the sheet metal and keeping what I could. I painted the car silver with a dark red interior. The engine is a TR-4a with a TR-4 gear box. It really runs well
This forum has been a great source of information for a person new to LBC's. Hopefully, my experience's can help someone as others have helped me.
