Cheers from the Heartland! Just joined, obviously, and looking forward to whatever I can learn from those who know more than I do, which I'm sure is most of you. I have a 1970 MG Midget MKIII that I recently got from a friend when he moved to Colorado. I didn't actually want the car, but he needed it gone and I decided what the heck, why not. I've never owned an MG, but I've had two Triumph GT6s, a 1967 and then a 1970. Rode Norton motorcycles for years, now riding old Italian stuff including a 1988 Ducati Paso and a 1983 Laverda RGS. Oh, and a 1967 Wards Riverside 250, which is actually a Benelli. They're all riders, not trailer queens.

The Midget is remarkably clean and rust free, and shows a reportedly true 58,700 miles. It's been in Lawrence, Kansas, where I live, since new. It sat for a few years, and it's been fun - so far - getting it back on the road. Right now I'm attempting to see if I can make it run properly on a Weber 32/36 DGV. I already had the carb (originally intended for a Volvo PV544) and after several unsuccessful attempts at getting the MG's SUs to behave figured I'd give it a try. Yes, I know it's a contested and fraught subject, but I don't have much to lose. Worst thing that can happen is I throw in the towel and rebuild the SUs.

Anyway, from the poking around I've done this looks like a great community of enthusiasts and an excellent resource for British car owners.

That is a great looking MG!

I had a Weber on my MGB, and after trying to adjust the darn thing, I went back to SU. Let us know how your Weber trial goes.

Say, is that your community garden in the background? I've run one (heirloom vegetables) for about twenty years. Great experience.

Good to have you with us.
