After years of owning and restoring German cars, I recently purchased my first MG, a 1980 MGB. Currently, I'm about 60% of the way through a major restoration - the car goes to the paintshop tomorrow, and then I'll finish up in July after I return from vacation . Aside from the oil leaks, I've been pleasantly surprised by the build quality - certainly not up to pre-80s Mercedes standards, but at least as good as the air-cooled VWs I've worked on. I haven't decided if I'm "hooked" on MGs yet, but I do enjoy the simplicity of the cars and the abundance and relative low-cost (compared to Porsches!) of replacement parts. Can't wait to get it back on the road.

After driving my 1960 M-B from Connecticut to California and back (2013), I'm now the proud owner/caretaker of a 1953 MGTD.
