New member and master cylinder problem

Hi, I just bought a 69 TR6, it is in pretty good shape but does need some work/restoration. I live on Vancouver Island in British Columbia and am looking forward to some summer driving. Now for my first problem I need help with. My master cylinder leaked all it's fluid X2 into the servo unit. I plan to replace the master cylinder and I emptied the fluid out of the servo. Can I expect any problems from having this fluid in there? Is it possible to open up the servo and clean it out? Thanks.

Unfortunately, servo failure seems to be common after being filled with brake fluid.

Opening them seems fraught with peril; check out this article for more details.

Unfortunately again, the company Partco mentioned in that article no longer rebuilds brake servos. But Brosky mentioned this place :
Brake Materials and parts
800 Sherman Blvd
Fort Wayne Indiana 46808
phone 260-426-3331

and said they did a good job for him.

Sorry about the brake problems, I agree with Randall on the servo.

But welcome to the forum. Great place to be for: info, humor, motivation and talk about LBC's

Welcome to the forum Barry:driving:

I just had one rebuilt by Brake Materials and parts, they told me there was fluid & gas in the servo. He said the diaphram was twice the size it should'a been.

They do a good job dismantling the enire servo powdercoating it then reassembling it with new parts for a reasonable price.

Hi and Welcome to a fellow Canukian!
I believe that there is a strong TR club in Vancouver that could provide assisstance with finding service that may be a little closer. (No offence to those to the south of us)
