Some of you already know me from several of the other on-line forums - this is for those that don't.

I bought my first Triumph 40 years ago, a 1963 Herald Salon which carried me back and forth to school, work and the requisite watering holes in between. I sold that car in 1969 when I was drafted and didn't rediscover Triumphs, Heralds in particular, until a little over a year ago when I bought a really messed up 1961 Mk1 convertible which I am restoring and 'enhancing'.

Another long-time biker + Brit-car driver here.

Not a lot to do with these toys right now; lot's of snow and cold here in New Jersey. I bet it's even worse where you are.

We're located a bit north of Eau Claire, WI.
Our latitude at the house is 44.97 degrees north. Halfway between the equator and the north pole. Somehow it always feels like we are closer to the north pole than the equator.

Welcome to BCF, an interesting looking project you have there. What an unusual conversion to pickup, I would have almost been tempted to keep it that way as odd as it looks.

I don't know if you're in contact with Andy Mace out of New York, he basically knows everything there is to know about Herald's, and he also hangs out in the Triumph forum here, although it looks like you're doing just fine so far.
 
Thanks to all for the kind words and warm welcome.

As for the Herald, I was first going to rebuild it as a pickup truck (UTE) but the wife convinced me that a convertible would be more to her liking. Her liking has since shifted to the GT6+ that is patiently waiting in the shed.

I've still got the original rear tub and hope to someday rebuild the donor car as a UTE.

Andy was one of the first folks that offered their help when I first cried out back in October 2006. I can't thank him enough for the guidance and information he has provided.

Now I just need some warm weather so I can get back to work on the car.
