Just bought a 66 Sprite and have already learned a lot here just tonight. First car as a teen was a 77 Midget so I feel like I'm going back in time.

Have just started the tear down, mostly front suspension and brakes/master cylinder.

I have two initial questions: 1. I have the 7/8 master cylinder and the clutch had to be pushed to the floor to work; brakes the same. Should I resleeve to the 3/4?
2. Any tips on removing the inner wishbone fulcrum pin? That's all I have left to remove in the suspension!

Thanks.

Hi Richard and welcome to our forum! We have a lot of Sprite owners here so I'm sure you will find all the help you could ever want!

Welcome Richard.

If the inner fulcrum pin gives me any resistance, I just saw it off (with a Sawzall) and replace it with a new one. If you put too much strain on it, you will damage the thin, steel chassis tabs that hold the wishbone to the frame.

G'luck.

Welcome indeed, Richard! Good to have another Tennessean in the mix.

Not that Nial's response is lacking, but be sure to post your question on the Spridget section; you'll get lots of help, and meet fellow owners.

Thanks Nial, I bought the Milwaukee Sawzall and now have both A-arms removed and ready to start rebuilding the front suspension.

SAWZALL!!!! Ooh-ooh!!
