New Look - Discussion

Looks good from here, Boss. I'd say it's a winner.

EX-cellennnntttt!

Side boxes? I've always just ignored them. Not enough active brain cells to focus on them and the Forum at the same time, I guess.

Nice to see The Emperor has fixed his avatar and .sig file, too!

Well. I understand that, but they lead to many different parts of the forum where I'm hoping to see a bit more activity, such as the member-submitted articles and the member's art section (we have some GREAT artists here). Also, the Car Club database, Member Blogs, etc. When they are out of sight they are out of mind, and given the effort that went into putting that stuff together, I'm hoping folks will have a look at those areas from time to time. (By the way, on the right, did you notice we just went over 9100 members?)

I am, however, hoping to come up with a modification that will allow members to turn off the side boxes while actually in a forum or reading/making posts where the extra real estate make s a difference. I'm hoping to eventually eliminate the current "Portal Page."

I kinda like it but my old eyes are straining what with the small font & the background colros...how do I change the font & go back to the colors I used before?

From your Preferences. OR! If you're using Firefox, go to "View" and select "Make Text Bigger"

(Or Ctrl ++ for bigger text and Ctrl +- for smaller text). Try it.

I found how to get back to the old colors but can't find anyplace in Preferences to change font - really don't want to have to change it with "Ctrl ++" every time I want to read a post!

Looks good Basil. It needed a little refreshing just to jazz it up a little. Sometimes a little change is good.....

Whoa....wait a minute!!!

I was just looking at the fonts that changed on the "old style" pages. I just opted for the "new BCF" and it's great.

Thank you....nicely done.

Change definitely is good.....(so is my reading the fine print)

Yes, if folks want to see the "new" style and they are not set to "always use default" then you can scroll to the bottom of the page and select the "newbcf" style to see the new style.

Oooohhhhh Nice. I've been using the classic style since 2005. I kinda like the new one.

Like Tony, I am having trouble with the font sizes and finding a way to fix them to my liking!!

FYI I just increased the font size for the posts and the forum pages. For exampel, this text should look a little bigger now. But if not, see my previous reply to him in this thread - you can change your text size from your browser OR you can change your STYLE back to what you prefer.

Very sharp! It really looks modern, the old look was a bit, well, old looking.

Thanks Boss!! Changing my browser helped some too!! (We older members need all the help we can get!!)

You sure it's not one where there's a new picture in the Gallery?
