New L-Bracket

Currently "batchin' it" as Mitsy has traveled to Miami area to spend extended time with her elderly mum and her brother 'n family. I hold down th' hovel 'til sometime next week. So today I got bored and dragged out the Bogen sticks, set up a couple flash units on a 45Β°-to-subject area and goofed around for a bit. Anxious to get the new tripod to make a setup like that easier. Did nothing significant, no diffusion, just played around with settings on those output adjusting "black boxes" put together a while back. Had to dig around the garage for some 1/4x20 stock to make into studs, to hold the flash units in a couple articulating gizmos fitted to "music stand" type tripods. Did some shots of equipment to file away in case there'd be any question if some got pilfered or other proof for insurance purposes.

Does it sound like I'm BORED?!? :ROFLMAO:

Manatees!

Bit overcast for that today. Maybe tomorrow... maybe.

A few times a year (I may have missed this years migration), I'd go in the early AM to Zuma beach. I've caught whales, dolphins, seals and of course birds. Nothing too special, but fun nonetheless.

Better'n that, there's a ten foot gator living in that waterway I posted a couple days ago. Seen it a few times over the years, and now it's mating season for 'em so there's a chance he'd be more visible.

Maybe just a little! Maybe you could saunter on down to the shore line and get some sutset pics while Mits is away.
Like I mentioned. Too overcast today.

Just leave the 24mm at home.;)
You betcha! A good opportunity to utilize the 80~400 for sure.

More to my liking is, I know a spot where a lot of turtles hang out sunning themselves on downed tree trunks in a pond. They don't run near as fast as a gator. πŸ˜‰

There was a tortoise in the back yard of a house we were shooting at. He knew just where to go to be most in the way.20180906_100050.jpg

Remarkable it was there at all. Doesn't one need some sort of permit/license to keep a tortoise?

And it's not like you could leash him and take him for walks...

As a guy whose been batchin' for a while, tonight is gonna be a burger. Toasted brioche bun with Mayo, Dijon and avocado on top. Roasted garlic onion jam below. Cooked medium with brie and Asiago cheese.

I've known a couple people that have them, though I never asked about that. There is a park nearby that has several turtles that were "donated" to the pond there.

I made spaghetti 'n meatballs. Peasant fare.

Those here in the area I'm thinking about likely outgrew their aquariums or outlived their keepers' interest and were tossed into the pond. Or got too big to flush down th' crapper.

50/50 beef and veal here. egg as binder. Again, peasant food. My Italian Grandma's methods.
