Or the corvair truck. Man they were ugly. I love 'em.
On the Jensen, I'd love to see one. Looks like an overstyled Hot-Wheels to me, But I bet it'd be pretty sleek in person.
 
I'll only believe it when I see it, there have been so many false starts for modern Jensen cars...
 
There are similar renderings of e type jags around - gorgeous but like sherlock says, unlikely to see the lightof day. As i look at especially the third pic, i'm not sure whether they stole a new camero or a new mustang grille.
 
Not quite, John-Peter. Lynx in the UK have been around refurbishing and rebuilding E-Types and other Jaguars for over 30 years now. More power to them - some of their cars are drop-dead gorgeous.

lynx isvery cool - was actually referring to Growler which has done a similar treatment, updating the lines.

To my eyes, every line that they updated/changed from the original E-Type was not an improvement in design. The coves in the sides, the small buttresses where the roof line meets the trunk, the vent that runs the length of the roof, the oversize wire wheels with the rubber band tires, the quad headlights, and the hideous gray panel at the bottom of the grille opening do nothing but detract from the original design. I don't see any improvement.
 
That Growler is pretty ugly compared to the real deal. Does anyone here know what the one Jeremy on Top Gear drove for the 50th anniversary of the E-type? That one was beautiful. As for the Interceptor, I don't think it will ever come to be, but it is a cool concept.

Astronomically expensive though i suppose the proposed jensen and growler are too. I actually like the lines of the jensen and the growler. Yes, they are different and yes, something is lost but nor does it pretend to be the same car. I also like the new beetle, new mini, retro t birds and the fiat 500. Not crazy about the pt cruiser or the chevy whatchamacalit but i "get" them. Beats the heack out of cookie cutter cars.

There was one at a Delaware City car show a couple of weeks ago.

Consider this from the perspective of growing up in the UK in the 60s. Most cars were between one and two liters and not very big, then along comes the Interceptor with a huge engine by anyone's standards (440CI). Some variants also had four wheel drive and anti-lock brakes.
