Hi Everyone,
My dad and I used to have an shared account here but haven't posted in ages. I've since grown up a bit, finished university, got a job, a house and a (longterm) girlfirend....So life has sort of kept me away from the hobby for awhile.

My dad still has a big collection of LBCs; I've still got a 78 MGB (with 21,000 original miles) which he bought for me when I was 3 years old! We just rebuilt the entire braking system over the summer and it was great to spend some quality time with him again.

I've also got some other toys (an SLK320, a Camaro, Firebird and a 'pimp-ed out' Sonoma) and as a side project/hobby I moonlight as an automotive journalist writing new car reviews....So there's a new car in my driveway just about every week, it's a lot of fun, but a lot of work as well. The reason I am back though is that I've just picked up another project; a 1979 Spitifire. It's an original California car that made it's way up here in the late-eighties. It's been sitting outside neglected for a few years and need a fair bit of TLC, so I am sure I'll be needing to draw on the knowledge of some of the good folks here....I just got it home on the weekend and I've had it running on starter fluid, but it needs the fuel pump rebuit before it'll run on it's own....Body is about as solid as they come in this part of the world though!

Progress on the Spitfire may be a little slow given that we've just moved into the house 2-months ago, so I've got a massive list of household projects to work around, but it feels great to be back in the game :D

BTW: Does anyone have a diagram showing the correct fuel line routing for the lines coming out of the fuel tank into the trunk area in the Spitfire? It looks like someone has been there before, so I want to make sure they're routed correctly before I put the panel back in place.
 
Hi Zack,

"Welcome Back" to the BCF.

Introduce Yourself to the "Triumph" section & fire away with your questions etc. You`ll probably get more info than you can handle at one time but It surely will be of a great benefit in bringing the "Spit" back to life.

Welcome Zack. Post your technical questions on the Triumph Forum here at British Car Forum and I'm pretty sure you'll get some feedback (you may wish to ask if someone has an unmolested car and if they can take a digital photo of the fuel line area).

For me, I would say don't run the engine too much until you are sure the thurst washers are within reasonable limits. Again, you can get more info about this topic on the Triumph Forum here at BCF.
