Hi, all, Dan D here, many of you may know me from The MGB Experience BBS. Owner of 2 MGB's, driver of 1 (right now!). I live in the Garden State of New Joisey although I hail from New England originally. Rabid Red Sox fan.

Dang, I hate being a 'newbie'! How many posts before that goes away?! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cryin.gif

Hello, all......

Glad to see you over here as well Dan.

What engine do you have in that Audi? Do you work on it yourself? I have a Passat with the Audi 2.8 V6. I plan on attempting the timing belt in the next few months. I've seen photos and it's not for the faint of heart.

Welcome in Dan. This forum is a "good place" though. Cross section of talent/experience/knowledge is great.

Know the feelin' RE: newbie. Prolific posting!

Heya Dan. Welcome aboard.

I joined yesterday, doesn't take long for your post count to go up.

Janel, you're a weasel.

And I mean that in the ~nicest possible way~ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Remember that post about liars a while back? Reckon JB won!

Welcome, Dan!

Nope, see, that proved the point that women aren't as good liars as men. Not one person believed me for a second. I'm a miserable liar.

...nice hooters tho....

Oh please, can we just stop the hooters thing for a moment... wait though, it does raise the tone around here!!

Dan- Sorry to hijack your thread. Welcome to the forum... post often. THe good thing about this forum as opposed to just a B forum is that once you mingle with other Brit car owners you will soon realize the error of your ways and want a real British car. When that moment of discovery arrives, pop over to the Triumph section and we'll take care of you bud!

You notice the closet MG lover here right Dan? RG is a 'rumphy, but we accept her for her shortcomings.

Besides, we're partners in crime, she & I!!! And someone has to keep these men in line and their minds off my hooters.

HORNS MAN, MY MGB'S HORNS!

ROFL @ JB!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif For a split second, you confused the h*ll outta me!

Welcome Dan! I think you'll find a great variety of information here. Don't forget to browse other forums to take advantage of the "other" car people's knowledge!

That's right. If anyone knows about breakdowns, failures and car repairs, it's the 'rumpfies!
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Welcome, Dan....now you see what we have to put up with....its a hard task but somebody has to do it....hehehehehe

Only because we can acutally go fast enough for something to break!

See how the 'rumpfies' hang out in the MG forum? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

LOL, thanks for the welcome, all, even the Tri*mph owners.... ;-)

Greg - I have the 1.8T but it's still under warranty (25k mile service tomorrow, in fact) - yes, I've seen pictures of timing belt replacement and it ain't pretty! Not sure with the VW but with the Audi's you need to remove the entire front end sheetmetal, due to the longitudinal placement of the engine (vs a more normal transverse).
