Hi all, I just thought I would take a minute to introduce myself. I just purchased a restored 1971 TR6. I was going to find a project or one that just needed a little TLC, but with 2 kids (2 and 6 months) my wife convinced me to spend a little more and get one that wouldn't occupy too much time. So here I am. Of course I have already found a few things to do, so I am sure I will start picking everyones brains pretty soon. What a great site you all have here. I look forward to being a part of it.

Welcome!! I did the same thing with my 4A, but I quickly realized that I did not buy a "restored" car so much as I am finishing a restoration, which is of course can be 90% of the work sometimes. At least, I am not having to worry about body or engine work!!
Also, be sure to look into joining one of the local clubs--Capital Triumph Register and Triumphs Around The Chesapeake. They are great folks.

Yeah she is definitely a keeper. Here is a picture, not necessarily the best with the shadows, but you will get the general idea. The PO when restoring decided to put a fiberglass spitfire style flip forward bonnet. I know the purist's wont like it, but hey it works for me...

Things to do: Get a soft top, adjust the ZS carbs (idles rough), fix float on fuel sending unit, new Speedometer (Odometer doesnt work).

If you have any ideas or input let me know. It will be greatly appreciated.

The factory and Haynes manuals will give you guidance on your to-do list. As for vendors, take a look at the BCF's supporting vendors page and PM me if you want to know anything specific about metro DC parts suppliers.

Welcome, I live on the other end of Virginia, but get to Fredericksburg once in a while. My son lives there. He has a 1974 TR6. I have a friend that lives in Stafford who owns a TR6.
I know you will get a lot of help from this forum. There are some pretty sharp guys and gals here. Pete
 
Pete- nice to meet you. Your son and your friend are not too far away. If you ever come up this way, or they are interested, maybe we could all meet and go for a drive.
 
If you VA guys are looking for something to do on Nov 18 or 19, come on over to Summit Point (WV) to see our EMRA races....SP is less than 50 miles from you guys. I'll be running in a four-hour twighlight event on Saturday, Nov 18.
Also, there's a VRG vintage event at SP this weekend (Sept 30-Oct 1) I'll be there too.
 
I'm looking forward to seeing a photo with the hood tilted forward!
