new home in Florida yAnother Healey in Florida...

BN6L-942 arrived at it's new home in Florida yesterday afternoon. The very top of the front end and the windshield have a fair amount of bugs plastered to it, but I won't have a garden hose to clean it up until after the movers get everything unloaded (due to arrive in another hour).

The only problem is that both of the rubber exhaust mount isolators didn't last the trip, so it's hanging via the header flanges at the moment. I'll see if Moss can send some out today (if they're even open on Saturday...).

The black car has some oil spots on it's hardtop, but other than usual road filth, it's fine. I wonder where the oil came from...?

LOL, I understand weight distribution but a British car should never go on top of a hauler!

Ya musta passed by th' hovel on the way. We're likely to be rattlin' past ya sometime next week on the way to North Port area.

Wow, I really blew it with the title; I think part of it was blanked out on my (I-phone) screen and I started over. Those little dinky keypads will get you in trouble if you're not paying enough attention!

Mailing address is Parrish, so actually just a little north of Lakewood Ranch (Bradenton) whereas Palmer Ranch is on the south side of Sarasota. The distance between the two is approximately 24 miles; I know this as my wife has accepted an audiology position down that way (Fruitville Rd/I-75). Coming from NY, I'm sure you'll love it down here! BTW, they drive sportscars all year around...

Dougie, it's really not as big as it looks. Ours is only a .52 acre lot, but has the benefit of the pond easment (east side and back of our lot) to make it look bigger. There is also a substantial "blvd" (grass between sidewalk and street) that makes it look bigger. The reality is that I don't own a mower at all, but the builder provides landscaping service for the first two months (!) so I have time to figure out if I want to cut it at all, or have it done (like at our last place).

The exhaust from the truck was a "grass burner" so no soot residue on the cars, just bugs and typical road dust/dirt. It didn't help that there must've been a light sprinkle, just enough to really secure the dirt to the cars

Greg, we wanted the Healey on the bottom, but the (Healey's) ground clearance and ramp angles wasn't going to let that happen. The black car leaks nothing, so I would've preferred it on top!

North Port's not too far away, as we actually looked at a few (existing) places in that area before deciding on where we built. If you think you have time to stop by, maybe for a glass of lemonaide and a pit stop, give me a call (419 350 1098) we're pretty close to I-75, and not far off Hwy 301, depending on which route you take .

Now, if I can get my (garden) hose reel mounted up, I'll start washing cars...

Took Interstate but left th' hovel later on Saturday than planned, so just steamed on by. Sunday return trip was late-day.

We're up and down that highway often (sounds kinda like a song), will get in touch and arrange a meet-up in the near future.
