Hi There Hillman,

As mentioned by Dave; Introduce Yourself & Your Cars to the "Other British Cars" Forum & fire away.

Best Wishes,

Welcome to the Forum!

Thanks for welcome guys and ya there a rare find especially for the price $600 for both cars hillman workshop book both titles extra rear end and alot of parts for the brakes but im gonna try to get some more pics before i post them up in other british cars but if anyone knows a good place for info/parts/or what interchanges with these cars would be great

Welcome. I had a 59 Minx years ago, in England. Sunbeam Alpine has similar components, I swapped engine and gearbox.

Yes, welcome! And, as Roger says, many Sunbeam parts are similar to the ones in your car (Hillman and Sunbeam were both made by "Rootes Group"......a car company in England that no longer exists). You may be able to find some info via the Sunbeam Forum here at British Car Forum. Also, there is a fellow who lives near me who is a wealth of info on Sunbeams and Hillmans. Unfortunately, he is not a member of this website. But you can reach him via ~THIS LINK~

Welcome aboard! I spent 7 years in Great Falls MT when I was a young buck. I worked on the NORAD SAGE system at the 24th NORAD Region at Malmstrom. I loved MT. Hope to get back there some day.

ya mt is a pretty great place to live if you like cars and enjoying the country side i lived up by great falls for a few years in shelby mt but ya i noticed some sunbeam parts work been trying to figure out engine parts interchange because i have a extra block that could be rebuilt if i can find a head and new internals but thanks for the warm welcome gonna be posting up more pics in a few moments

well got some more pics of the two minx's time to start digging deep into these to get one of them going on to the pics

this one will be up for sale or a part out once i get the parts i need off it
the keeper

pretty clean for a 57 not alot of rust runs but needs some wiring fixed and some new gaskets

Welcome! I remember the Minx, it was always seen as a step-up from the more ubiquitous Ford Anglia or Vauxhall Viva.

As mentioned, many parts are common with those used in Sunbeams, and were in use for many years so the oily parts should not be an issue. Body panels and trim might be a different story but the UK is the best source for these and with modern communications and expedited shipping the distance is no longer a problem. Anything is possible if you can throw enough money at it! ;-)

One note of caution, I remember from my Rootes-owning days.

I once thought to fit an alloy head and carbs from an Alpine or Rapier to my Minx, but a little research showed that wouldn't work. The alloy heads have a much more sensible port layout, although still all on one side of the cylinder head and not crossflow. For an alloy head you must have the matching camshaft.

I ended up buying the entire engine and overdrive gearbox from a wrecked 1725 Rapier. Made a big difference!
