If you don't mind, Tom, can you tell me a bit more about that? Maybe a name so I can Google it? I've never heard of "cataracts on the inside", but it seems like my Dad might have something similar. He had cataract surgery in both eyes, but still has a lot of trouble seeing at night.

And if he got it, I'll probably get it too.
 
Hi Randall,
After they removed and replaced the lens in both eyes I still had trouble seeing at night with oncoming cars to the point that Shirley (my wife) had to do all the night driving. I went back in and they found that I had cataracts on the inside. I went to have them removed. It was a simple procedure with a laser. Took 12 seconds per eye and was able to leave with no pain or discomfort. It was explained to me as like cutting around a curtain and it then simply fell down. Now I have no problem driving at night.
I did have some trouble with the new lenses at first. It seemed like there were spots of a sparkle when looking at any light source. It wasn't long and that went away. I had one eye done at a time and almost did not go to have the second one done because I was dissapointed in the result, fortunately I went back and had a new exam and that was when they found the other problem. Now all is good.
 
Thanks, Tom. I guess I'm still not clear on how one can have cataracts once the lens has been replaced; but I'll ask my eye doctor about it next time I'm there.
 
Tom, my wife had the same issue and she started losing vision in the eye that had cataract surgery. A quick trip back to the eye Dr and 5 min later after laser treatment she was good to go. She described it as a ‘foggy’ look.
