Just saw a new floor jack at Harbor Freight that has a very low (just over 2 inches I think)profile. It had a foot pump as well as the long handle. Very wide stance and long reach to get way under the car. On sale for $105. Looks well made.

No, I already have 3 assorted floor jacks. Hate them all for different reasons. Storage problems. Do I see a yard sale in my future?
 
I was there today also. They have two low profile jacks. Lots of steel , they look heavy duty and two lengths and weight limits. As long as the hydralic pistons hold up it might be worth trying. One was on sale for $79.

I got one of their low profile steel jacks for about $60 two years ago and it has held up great. Will actually fit under the front sway bar when fully lowered and works like a charm sliding under the rear and using the rear cross member to lift the car up. I put an old polishing bonnet on the cradle to prevent scratching and also use a piece of 2 x 8 x 18 cedar ( a softer wood) as a further way to prevent damaging the rear cross member and spread the load somewhat. Always use jack stands once I got 'er up in the air. This jack goes from about 2+ inches to 22+ inches so really good range. I have also bought some stuff from HF and it is pure junk, but happy with the jack.

This is not the aluminum one they have been selling. This one is new and has a greater reach. I have one of their blue silver low profile ones, this is lower and longer.
