Hi,

I'm new to the forum and just wanted to say hello. I'm finishing up a total frame off restoration on a 70 TR-6 and am grateful for any advice on concours judging trials and tribulations. I'm not sure whether I want to get into that part of the car show arena, but I think my car could compete (until I drive it and get it dirty anyways)!

Thanks for the welcome Paul. The weather in upstate NY will keep me staring at this until April at least I think! I guess I'll have enough time to contimplate my next move with it.

Yowza! that's one gleaming 6! I cant give you many concourse hints as I drive a heap. But I would reccomend reading as many different books as possible to try to get everything correct if you plan on doing the concourse thing. Other than that, I'm too busy keeping mine together to clean it up much. If you're not too far away I'd reccomend trying to get to the Zippo Vintage Grand Prix Festival at Watkins Glen In Sept. I will try and do that. I'm planning on the 1st trip being to Carlisle in May for the Import Car show. If I can't drive it by then, at least I'll get some good close up views of fully restored cars to see what I might have missed. You have quite a collection!!

Mark, get all the pictures from books that show early cars as they came off the assembly line, then check out the routing of wires and types of screw heads holding things together such as panels and dash, clamps on hoses are one item that is overlooked mostly and the green hoses are a must. There are a lot of really top cars out there and attention to detail is the only thing separating them. Wayne

I've done quite a bit of research on that, and hopefully from attending other car shows I can glean a bit more info. I have all the correct hardware under the hood (including green hoses). I just ordered a decal set that I hope will help get that little bit of extra originality. Thanks

A nice show to attend is Brifest in NJ (it's promoted by the nearby Moss Motors store). Always plenty of TR-6s there.

Welcome. Looks like you are making great progress. I am not entirely sure about concours cars, but I think you may have to have the car painted the original colour to be able to really compete at the concours level. Enjoy the forum.

Walter,

I've gone as far as to have a new Comm plate with the signal red paint and lt tan codes put on it. I guess if anyone did a Heritage search they'd see the car was Jasmine (I think I said Carmine) and a black interior. I just didn't care for that color combo. I definitely like it red!! Thanks,
