New guy with a tough question -- Can anyone give

Hi Joe,

I have your "Definitive" answer!

A "JAG XJS" Conv: There are a few of them on ebay right now. They comfortably sit 2 adults, 2 children, Top Down Driving, Low slung for good handling etc etc. They come in "6" Cyl.Twin Overhead Cam Engines or "12" Cyl.

My personal preferance would be the "6" Cyl. cause their just simply easier to work on. You don`t have to be an Electician, Plumber and or Rocket Scientist on the "6" as you do on the "12" Cyl.

Check out the "Jag Forum" and ask some opinions; Pros and Cons of ea.

You`ll probably find a decent Jag in the $10K bracket.

Have Fun,

Russ

I'll ditto the Stag suggestion. Or, if it needn't be too sporty, a Sports 6. Preferably upgraded with a GT6 motor and overdrive.

No one seems to be listening...

But that's OK - keeps the prices down, like with the Wedges! Our little secret.

I agree with an earlier enthusiast who suggested a late 60s 3.5 litre V8 Rover. A friend of mine had one - true British feel, power to spare, comfortable and classic lines.
Another option (beware upcoming sacriligious comment)you might want to consider is a Volvo 122/123/Amazon from the late 60s. These are easy to work on with basic Triumph blocks and SUs, are solid as rocks, and still look good after all these years. I've had two, and loved them both.

Healeys are too expensive and are too cramped for 4 people, as are most Brit convertibles. I've owned them all.

Cheers
