Just discovered this site. Finished restoration of our 1960 Bugeye in 2011. Car is featured in Jan/Feb 2011 issue of Austin Healey Magazine.
We live 16 miles from Yosemite Nat'l Park, and the Bugeye loves the mountain roads. We are currently replacing a bad rebuild on our 1098cc
(made a mistake going originally with the "low bid" engine guy.) This site appears to be a wealth of information. John

I had a `59 Frogeye (Prefer "Frogeye vs Bugeye") just a few yrs ago. Fun car but I always cringed a bit sticking my head under the Bonnet thinking; "If that thing ever came down"!! Lights Out!!

By this time; I guess you`ve introduced yourself to the "Spridget / Midget" gang.

Yea! More Sprites!

I have to ask: how does your car handle the altitude changes around there? I remember riding my motorcycle (a two-stroke RZ-350) from Yosemite valley up to Glacier Point and it wouldn't run below 5000 rpm without loading up the plugs above 6000 feet!
