Hey everyone. I've been in the world of British sports car ownership for about 3 weeks, and what a learning experience it's been!
My entry into this "exclusive club" is my 1974 Jensen Healey MkII. She'll be my winter project, once the Wisconsin weather has kicked into cold mode. For now, I'm just enjoying driving Ms. Jenavieve (yes, she has a name) around town as time permits and repairing all the little oddities that keep cropping up.
To date: redid the alternator wiring to the harness so she actually charges, rebuilt the front left caliper (warning to other Jensen owners: a Spitfire caliper is *almost* a perfect fit, key word being "almost"), fixed various wiring issues while calling a curse upon the family of Mr. Lucas, and spent hours online learning as much as I could. This winter she gets stripped down to bare metal for the full restore of the body. She's actually not in bad shape... a few small holes in the floorpans and a bit of bubbling on the rockers. Interior is almost perfect and the soft top's been replaced fairly recently from what I can tell.
Looking forward to the fun. This is the first Brit car I've owned... the projects through the years have included a Fiat X1/9, an Opel GT, and a Karmann Ghia convertible, but I've learned that the British cars are a whole different world. At least I have the Internet to lean on this time.
