New guy in town, with a broken 77 B

Well, this is just my obligitory introductory post. Don't really have much to say yet.
I've got a 77 MGB, that isn't running at the moment. Had thought it was the fuel pump, but after dismantling the the fuel line from the tank to the input of the ZS 175, and got fuel the whole way, I'm now stumped.

So I'll be looking through the archive here to see if I can find what might be wrong. And when I figure out how best to describe the problem, I'll post it and see if any one here can help.

Thanks

Justin

Welcome Justin, The next step would be to check to see if you have spark. Has the car been sitting? If so how long? I would change the fluids, even a "quick" start up can cause a bunch of damage if the oil isn't what it should be. If you have spark and your getting fuel it should atleast fire up. Good luck and keep us posted. MACK

Check all the usual places... distributr cap, rotos, points, plugs, wires, etc. You may also want to check the coil, timing and carb floats. If the car hasn't been driven in a long time, check out this great article. Good luck!

Welcome, from another 77 B. Thanks to a lack of local emission testing, I can't help you much with the ZS though. But I am about to take a crash course in clutch.

Welcome Justin.
And thanks for the reminder that there's a lot of good stuff in the archives here.
