Just bought a 74 1/2 TR6. Not my first rodeo though as I've owned a '69 and a '73 (sold in '94). I must be going through male menopause. It's nice to be able to pop the hood and know what I'm looking at! 73,000 original miles, needs a new top and paint among other things. I plan on asking a lot of questions. The first one being the difference in handling between a 185r15 and a 205r15 tire. Is there any? Have found two dealers for the redline tire; Coker and Universal. The Coker tire is about $30 cheaper. Glad I found this forum and I know I'll learn a lot from you guys.

IMO there is little difference just from the change in width. The big difference comes in because you can buy higher performance tires in the wider/lower profiles. Tire construction has come a long way in the past 50 years, but tire makers don't put their best handling tricks into tall skinny tires.
Lower actual sidewall height will also provide a small improvement in cornering and agility, but that also affects speedo calibration and ride height. Most folks don't want to get into that.
I found a significant improvement in my TR3A when moving from 185/65 to 205/55, but again I think that was mostly because I found higher performance tires in the wider size (and switching to TR6 wheels was bound to help as well).

Welcome to the BCF bonzocfi! And welcome back to LBC ownership. I owned a TR6 about 20 years ago when the Earth was still young. Sold it due to a remote overseas assignment, but another Triumph remains on my list.
