Getting back to sports cars. In the early 70's I pulled wrenches at a Jaguar, MG, Land Rover, BMW and Subaru dealership. Great job for a gearhead 20-something. Gradually worked up the chain from mechanic to service or parts manager for reasonably large dealerships. Got interested in the computers we used for inventory, got a degree in computer science and spent the next 40 years working in IT, the last 30 doing cybersecurity for the U.S. Navy. Bought my 1960 Healey 3000 BN7 in 1972, drove it for a while then started tear-down for a restoration. Life got in the way and the Healey sat in a pile for the next 50 years. Started a serious frame off restoration about 18 months ago. Here's where it started

Body and chassis painted (OEW), engine rebuilt, a little more gets done each day. Realistically a year to go. In the meantime I wanted a second car, as backup. I live alone and a way out of town, so depending on the dealer having a courtesy car if my main driver is in the shop won't cut it. I wanted something I could maintain. Don't have any tools for computer based cars and quite frankly don't want to learn to use them. Forty years with computers was long enough. Saw this on FB Marketplace, went and talked to the owner, who has had it since 1987. We made a deal and home it came.
1971 non-overdrive (that might change) TR6. Although I worked at a Triumph dealership for a bit I never had a lot of experience with the TR6. I'm enjoying learning about this one. Only needed a couple little fixes to be road worthy. Spend most of my time on the AH Experience and lately the Triumph Experience sites, but expect to be around here too. As you can see from the first two Healey pictures I also collect and restore Gas Pressure Appliances, think Coleman lanterns and stoves, So I spend a good bit of time on the Coleman Collector's Forum and the Classic Camp Stoves site. If you are a camper and need a stove or lantern, hit me up, I'll give you a good deal.
