I just looked at my profile and the status read "still lurking", which sounded a bit creepy! Figured I would introduce myself:

Kayo, I am "involuntarily" retired, and am currently searching for work. I search the BCF forums too, as one day I hope to get back to work and be able to afford an LBC.

My first car was a '67 TR4A, and I got that in 1968 at a small used car lot in Northern Va. where I was living and going to college at the time. I had it for near 10 years before selling it to get a 240Z! Wish I still had both!

Great to have you with us LBC knuts kayo; keep an eye on the classifieds. And best of luck with the job search, there are a few others here that have mentioned the same situation. Never good, or easy.
 
Thanks Dart! I feel like I am among friends already. Never had a name for it, but I guess I have been an LBC Knut for a long time.

Hey; I was stationed in "Ft. Monmouth" back in `66-`67 & Then off to the "Big Rice Paddy in the Sky".

Your story of Un-Invited, Early Retirement is quite typ. these days. I`ve been there a few yrs. back & I was old enough to start drawing my Social Security early. I`m sure glad I did that. Hang in there & Best Wishes with the Job & LBC find.

I spent my later childhood years growing up in Jackson, NJ
(who am I kidding?....I'm <span style="text-decoration: underline">still</span> in my childhood years). :laugh:

Russ; Ft. Monmouth has gotten ITS involuntary retirement notice from BRAC and will close in a year or so. My dad mustered out of the army in '45 from there.

aeronca65t: Navesink is right down the road from me. My brothers kid used to live up Ogdensburg way so I know a little about the NW NJ area. I can't wait til I am able to "officially" retire!

I am amazed at how much I have learned from this forum in such a short time. Thanks all!
