I arrived home from work today to find that my MegaSquirt package had been delivered!

You all know what I'll be doing this weekend!! I got the JimStim to go with it so even though I'm no where near ready to have the EFI up and running, I will be able to build the boxes and test them and familiarize myselft with the software! I'm giddy with excitement!!!

Are you going to build your Megasquirt box, or did you get a pre-assembled unit?

I'm building the box. I got the JimStim assembled last night (stayed up until 2:30AM). I'm testing it this morning and so far everything WORKS! IT'S ALIVE! Next I'll start on the MegaSquirt itself. The fact that I enjoy assembling electronics kits on a PCB probably makes me some kind of Uber-Nerd or something but I don't care. This is FUN!!!

Ya know Aero, I bought the Autometer A/F gauge a while back to run with my carbs but I never got around to hooking it up. Then, in the midst of this project I got to looking to see if it would work with the MegaSquirt and I found that it only works with narrowband sensors. Seems kinda pointless to me but I think their gauge was geared more towards hooking it up directly to stock fuel injected cars. I think that wideband Innovative kit should be really nice though. My understanding is that you really have to have wideband to get any sort of tuning feed back. Otherwise it only tells you rich or lean but not HOW rich or lean.

That's cool. I knew I didn't need the whole kit but I didn't realize that the LC-1 gave both signals. My downpipe for the turbo actually has 2 bungs welded in so I thought I would run 1 O2 sensor to the MS and a second to the gauge but that means twice the expense on O2 sensors. This sounds like a much better solution even though I realize that this gauge will only serve to impress my friends!
