New gauges in Dashboard where radio goes...

I'm thinking of putting some gauges on the dash of my 59 BE where the radio usually goes. Any hints/tricks suggestions of
good gauges to install and where to buy them. How about where/how to install the in that space? Does someone make a plate of sorts?...tks..

Never saw one for gages. Wouldn't be hard to fabricate one your self. Your going to need awfully small instruments though. Rectangular ones would probably look good.

I have the stock later console in my Bugeye with a CD player, map light, and 2 extra gauges, Volts and Vacuum, both Smiths period correct gauges.
And the speaker grille is still in the console, that houses my cruise control switches and a Sprite arrow badge.

Gauges over there would be usless, out of sight.

If you are looking for something to put in the hole consider a clock mounted on a metal plate the size of your radio delete. If you take your time, and find a clock out of a car in that period of time with a little chrome deco it would look ok and not out of place.

Also you could just make a open storage area out of metal

Here is an elec clock from an MGB with the chrome trim removed and our trim installed. did it myself of course. The clock is a dealer option so it can be anywhere on the dash.
