Take one of these

add a bunch of these

plus a few pounds of glass grit. Leave for about three hours and you get this:

OK, not great light or photos but a huge difference. And I may have overloaded a bit and could have left it running longer. That said, I have been thinking about a tumbler for a while now to clean, nuts, bolts and fiddly bits. Thought about it as the vacation was winding up and looked at Harbor Freight. They had a 5 lb. unit on, half price ($49.99) and then I found a 25% off coupon, kind of a no brainer. The two things I threw in were my "I don't know what it is tub" and another cup of bolts which had gotten full of water and stayed wet till it evaporated. I can't tell them apart and there are parts that came out of the tub that I didn't know had gone in.

I am very pleased.

Glad to hear a review on that. I've been eyeballing one of those for a few years. I gotta watch the sales more closely.

If you've got glass grit, just use a magnet to get the stuff out. Unless there's a lot of stuff that not magnetic, but most of it looks like steel.
