Hey everyone.

I made the long drive north to Eureka yesterday and picked up a new member of the family.

Car had been stored for the last 15 years. Paint fresh (some minor rust bubbles) - panels are pretty straight and don't look like they've been hit. Trim complete but not installed. Is OD gearbox. Rough interior. Supposedly ran great (15 years ago) but missing some teeth on the flywheel starter gear ring. PO ran with triple Webers. Removed and tried to replace with TR6 dual Strombergs. failed smog (in about 1995) so he just stored car.

I need to:
1) Find a steel wheel (have only three) or need to perhaps change the wheels (and buy new tires). Existing rear wheels look terrible, IMO. Need a wheel and a hubcap. Are available?
2) Pull the flywheel and replace starter gear. (maybe replace clutch hardware while I'm in there). Hoping to remove gearbox from inside car and not pull engine.
3) Go through all hydraulics and ensure brakes are working well.
4) Decide on carburetion approach and install. Hoping engine doesn't need work and not planning to rebuild engine, at this point.
5) Freshen up interior (not urgent).

I'll need some help and advice on all these topics and will further this thread with my questions during next few days.

Many thanks to Doug for meeting me up in Eureka and helping trailer the car. BCF community is great!

Great find and nice addition to your collection. Is jasmine yellow an original color? I like it. I see we are neighbors.

I sold a Jasmin colored TR250 last year and still regret it. If you need a 250 wheel just pm me. I still have a lot of 250 parts.

Hi David
CD6021LO is comm number. I have a lot to learn about these cars. I'm not so well informed as I am on the TR3s.

Looks like a good solid car. Let me know if your interested in an all aluminum original surrey top. The top belongs to friend of mine. It's complete but would need a total rebuild.

Great find!! Do not buy anything until we can talk. I started out with the same irea about to get it running and drive, and now in the middle of a frame off. So I may not be the one to talk to... just kidding. I would love to come up and see this beauty. I have learned a lot about the 250 in the last year.. Call me when you have a free day.

Great find!! Before you do anything call me. I would love to come up and see your new 250. I was in the same thinking as you are about just wanting to fix and drive. So I may be the wrong person to talk with. I have plenty of parts and some knowledge of the 250 now. I can jump in the TR3 and head up to Folsom any time (retired) Let me know. I will be taking the motor out of the TR3 soon, but I will wait for a few days to drive it up there, (oil leak).. New seal and a lightened flywheel on the way.

Pat,

Nice meeting up with you.Helping out - isn't that what "car guys" do?
I hope that you get it going,as this car is very special to me - I would've
bought it if I had the money/space,but reality sank in.
