new exaust

well to start off my car had a bit of a problem the other day i hit a big bump and the exaust scraped in the middle and the exaust mounts broke. i fixed it well enough to get home and i had a chance to look at it today while rebuilding all of my brakes wich should be done late tomorrow night. but anyways i ordered new mounts and tried to bolt it up tonight and it wouldnt fit. the exaust was about 3inches too far forward then it should be. and the rear mufler is in the way of the parking brake lines. the cat is gone and it looks like the exaust was just moved forward with nothing in place of the cat. the downpipe is bent up and the pipes are almost closed at the joints. so my dad agreed with me to get a new exaust. the cheepest would be at a local mufler place. i want something loud at ldal and loud when i give it gas, i want a deep tone to it and not really loud at crusing. what do yall think i should do. any and all sudjestions welcomed oh and by the way no emission checks here

Adam....I already told you what to do if that happened: install a PECO header (only!)...then, take it to Worth Muffler on University Drive in Huntsville....tell them to build you an aluminized 2" exhaust with a 12" 'cherry bomb' in the center & a 14" 'cherry bomb' in the rear....it'll cost you around $100 for them to build that setup...then splurge & buy yourself one of their nice stainless tips for around $45..

...that's after you come over & get the custom Zenith intake-only manifold I have

The system I have had for a good while is the system pictured in the Moss catalog in the performance section at the bottom of the exhaust systems page. The black unit. It has a really deep tone and also actually has a feelable increase in horsepower. However, you said you didn't want it to be loud at crusing, well, this one is fairly loud at crusing in that you have to raise your voice some to talk above it. It has a nice idle that sounds more like a bigger car.

To get the sound you want go with Tonys suggestion, then talk to your local high school band teacher about brass instuments. I think the sound you want can be achieved by the size and length of the trumpet flair on your tailpiece. I adjusted my trumpet flair on my TR3 and got a great BLAAAAT on acceleration and great burble on decelaration with just a nice humm on the steady. Makes the Harley guys stand up and take notice.

or maybe use an early exhaust manifold, he's got them too, or I could make you a heck of a deal on a header
