Well, we took the plunge this weekend and bought a 2009 Mini Cooper S Convertible in Interchange Yellow. Added Union Jack rear view mirrors. What an amazing machine. More info and pics to follow.
Nice choice. Had my Cooper S (hard top) for 5 years now, and still find it just great fun to zip about in. And there are lots of neat "tuner" bits you can bolt on for added HP or just for fun (or both).
I've had one for about four years and continue to find things to like about it. A flawless car, IMHO, and what's more, it's held it's value remarkably.
That supercharger spooling up sounds a bit like a rocket ship or something, very cool sound.
When my tires needed replacing at about 30,000 miles, I jettisoned the run flats and put on regular tires. Boy, what a difference! Much quieter, a huge difference. Better handling, too. Something to think about.
