New Englanders can handle it [I hope ...]

I spent 7 years in Great Falls, MT. Know what we called this kind of weather? Spring!

It's basically stopped now. Really, no big deal in my view. It's been a mild Winter so far and we're only a month and a half away from marching in our local St. Pat's Day parade. So....let it snow!

Our school and many other things are closed today, which makes it pretty simple to get everything squared away.

In the end, we got about 8" (about 20 cm).

Most of the kids and ski buffs in my neighborhood are delighted and I have to say, I don't really mind......I spent a good deal of the day culling and organizing stuff in my home-office. The roads in our area are totally clear and driveable at normal speeds.

A bit more snow here in eastern Connecticut. As of 8am, 22" in my backyard, not including drifts. Another 9 to10 inches expected. Winds of 20, gusting to 40. Snow should end by 4 or 5 this afternoon. Then the fun begins ...

Is that a "Ray of Hope" in that photo Tom?

LOL - it's the kitchen fluorescent light reflection. Decided I wouldn't venture outside for the photo!

That's a lot of snow. Glad I'm here out here in the warm dry Rockies!

It's still coming down pretty heavy here in Boston.

27 inches just west of Beantown.

There's word that this will equal the blizzard of '78.

I was in colllege then, only university in the state open throught the blizzard, the theory being everyone lived on or near campus so what was the big deal. Couldn't see walking to classes, had to just go in the general direction and hope you hit a building...

I'm Currently in Somerville and getting ready to venture outside to cure my cabin fever. Hoping my flight still goes late Wednesday.

And still it comes -

Over two feet of snow on the deck as of 1:30pm. Seems the area between Boston and Springfield is getting the bulk of the snow. Should be ending tomorrow morning.

Maryland was largely spared. I have about two inches of snow outside the house, although areas only a few miles to the southwest oddly got about 4.5 inches of show, typically the heavier snow falls to the north and west. Roads are clear, but so salt encrusted that I imagine my Sprite would quickly disintegrate if I tried driving it.
