Just about finished with the carpet install I purchased from VictoriaBritish.

What a change!!! It looks great.
Do you have the original panels from the side annd door trim? A lot easier to do if yo have a pattern.
 
Thanks Bryan. I do not have the patterns, but just made one for the inside pocket. I'm going to try to finish the pockets this weekend. I would like to finish of the entire inside door. Not sure how the original sprites were finished off.

I don't know if they are, but I'll do some checking to see if I can find anything for you . I know quite a few guys with MK 1/2 sprites and someone may have some they can trace out on paper. Another thing would be to post a request in case someone has them already traced out or are in the process of doing their interior too.

Doors were a lot like my MK 1 Midget (picture). Maybe someone like Jack will post pictures of their frogeye doors.

Mike,

One of the first things I would do if I were you, is get a set of door check straps if you don't have them, to prevent damage to door and wing in case the doors get caught in the wind.
 
That looks nice, can't help wonder how that silver would look with a red interior though.

I'm curious about the way the wiring is attached below the passenger door. Looks like it may be hard to attach the trim panel that goes there.
 
Yes it is. It just kind of runs along the outside of the panel and makes the trim peice a pain. However, when the seat is installed it is not noticeable.
 
The main difference between the frogeye and the Mk1 Midget looks to be the painted finish on the edges of the frogeye as apposed to the padded finish on the MG. The pocket looks the same.
 
I will need to rewire. For some reason the previous owner ran the wires on the inside (exposed) of the door panel. That's definitely on the project list.

Is that not where the wiring was put at the factory?
 
Hi Mike,
All Sprites I've dealt with have had the wires run at that location. I would remove those brackets currently holding the wires. Then move the wires lower. The most important part is not to run a screw through them. Please get check straps as soon as possible or you may experience water leaking from your eyes.

Oh yea it is. I had one back then and that's where it was.

Unless we talking about different places. It ran from under the dash, under the cardboard trim panel to the floor then to the rear then behind the door ducked into the space between the exterior pannel and the braceing till it got all the way to the rear where it just was out in the open.
