New Brake Lines are here

My new set of brake lines for my EType just arrived! The fun part is going to be trying to remember how the are installed (it has been a few years since I removed the old ones).

I actually spent most of the day in the garage beginning the installation! Got some of it done, but there are a few areas that I'm not real sure about how things are routed so I will need to do some research. But I am making some progress!

I've got the Jag outside in the sunshine today finishing up installing the brake lines! Decided to take a few pictures (attached). I still have to buy and install new brake fluid bottles (expensive) and new flex hoses (probably going to go with steel braided). After that, I'll be ready to fill & bleed the brake system!

Sunday, 5 July, 6PM. Just finished installation of all hard break lines! Woo Hoo! I'm making progress!

Did ya do the rear with the subframe in or out of the chassis?

In - on my back. Getting the crossover (bridge) pipes screwed in on the tops of the calipers was the hardest part.

Today I ordered stainless steel flex hoses, new brake fluid bottles and a new brake bottle heat shield. Hopefully by next week I'll be able to pressure up the system.

Egad.

Congratulations. That is a singularly hateful task. On any full resto that thing would be out on the floor until every sub-system is in place. Way less aggro, IMO.

"You da MAN!"

So, you're actually working on the Jag....& making progress...keep it up & you might have it on the road soon.

"I have a dream." My goal is to finally have this sucker back on the road in time for next year's Father's Day car show in Edgewood.

So, how soon does it go down on its own wheels?

Tony, she's been sitting on her own wheels since I finished the IRS last year:

He's enjoyin' prolongin' his agony, methinks.

Isn't owning a Jaguar - or any LBC - perpetual agony? LOL
