After lurking for a few weeks, I have noticed how well informed and friendly this board is and have deceided to join. Also, thanks for the friendly welcome from Basil.

I hope I can bring my 20 years of experience on rebuilding and restoring tr7&8s to those who need it, and yes, I will also be asking many many questions.

I have a tr7 and two tr8s, one that I will be completly restoreing, I am hopeing that I will be able to post my progress here. The '80 tr7 is one that I have had sence 1983 (high school), my father made me put a roll bar in it because I was a little wild

. He was into the old MGs but I prefered the modern styling of the tr7/8s, the car has 145,000 origional miles and still runs fine. The tr8s are low milage cars that I have had for many years one is perfect and one needs restoring.

In the future please correct me if I'm wrong about anything and I apologize for any misspelling in future posts, I sometimes think faster than I can type. I come accross some crazy things when rebuilding these cars, so I hope you all don't mind me venting sometimes, like the 2X4 that was being used for the rear transmission mount

. Though these cars are somewhat cheep to buy, they are not cheep to maintain, and I belive these cars deserve the very best.

Thanks for letting me join such a great board and I hope to be posting soon.

Welcome. As you probably have already figured out, we have several active Wedge owners here.
Can't say I'm one of them, but at least I'm always learning something new around here!

And a worm welcome from Ontario. I am sure you will learn and offer much needed advice with your past history with these cars.
And... don't worry about the spelyng here... we don't notice.

I can!!! Welcome to another wedge owner from a wedge owner!

Welcome to the forum MrBlueSky - yes, we have a lot of great members here and several Wedge owners. I have a Spitfire myself. The closest I've come to a Wedge is that someone once gave me a "wedgie" in high school, but that doesn't count.

A little TOO much information Basil..

A big hearty from a fellow wedge owner. Does that make me a wedgie? Sounds like you have much to offer us fellow sufferers and hope you won't hold back. My 7 is a daily driver and the list of things I must tend to gets longer as the time to do them seems to get shorter, but it has been very reliable in spite of my neglect. Again, Welcome Aboard.

Welcome BlueSky, I myself am a wedgehead and I am fairly new to this board. It is probably the best source of information about LBCs on the net. At least Basil says it is and I am tending to agree. You will get all types of advice here about everything. Just ask and you will have an answer in a couple of hours if not sooner. By the time you are ready to tackle your problem you will have several diagnosis to your problem and you will have been advised about all the pitfalls of the job and you will probably have learned several tricks to make the job easier. Happy Motoring!
