New Bentley

Went to lunch with some co-workers today at the Elephant Bar, and there was a beautiful new black Bentley Coupe sitting there. I took a couple pictures with the iPhone and will post them later.

Actually that was mine. I told my driver to make a quick stop to get me a gin and tonic.

(in my dreams ...)

walmart sells Bentleys?

Ok, in an effort to get this thread off the Walmart bashing and back to the topic, here are some pictures I took with my iPhone at lunch today.

No kidding! The base price on that car (according to Edmunds dot com) is $183,000! IF I could afford that car, there is no way on Earth I'd park it between two other cars like that!

Which raises a good question: where do you drive/park a car like that?

If you have a luxury car, do you drive it to the drugstore, supermarket, gas station, restaurant, etc.? Or do you only drive it to parties at Bill Gates' house?

I'd be so afraid of parking lot rash I'd probably never drive it out of its [air conditioned, heated, humidity controlled, granite floored] garage.

Except when Bill G. asks, of course.

which just reminds me of picking up a friend at a downtown hotel last summer. we got in the midst of guest arriving for a SOCIETY wedding - watching the cars and the valets hopping they actually did have a special parking lot. sheesh.

JMHO but: "beautiful" and "new (black) Bentley Coupe" are NOT well matched. I think th' things look like an artist's concept of some "Dark Knight" Gotham prop car. Ugh.

Sinistra-mobile. :smirk:

If I had that much money to put into a new car purchase, THAT one wouldn't make the first cut.

Doc - guess I have to agree. It's "pretty", but seems strangely reminiscent of a new Ford Taurus.

If I had me druthers on a British saloon, I think I'd go for a 1955 Jaguar Mk VII:

It looks better in person than in the picture - honest

Dunno, Boss. Seems designers have declined into giving us the amorphous jellybean as their bread and butter these days.

In this case an almost 600 hp 12 Cyl Jelly Bean - I wouldn't kick it out of my garage for leaking oil!

Eric Bell takes a Jelly Bean for a spin:

If ya got the 183 grand to buy it, ya got the money to have it fixed if it breaks or gets a scratch or something. Ain't my cuppa tea however.
