New Ball Joint Install Help Needed.

I'm getting ready to install the second set of ball joints on my TR4, the first set was a miserable 3rd world version that Moss sent me, so I had to get another set.

When comparing the two, I noticed the better ball joint (Made in the UK) is slightly smaller than the one Moss sent me. They also have little elevated bumps on one side of each. Do these bumps represent anything? Should they face the front or the rear of the car, or does is make any difference which way they are installed? I checked the dimensions, and it appears that one side of the ball joint is slightly longer than the other side, but I wasn't sure if this would make any difference insofar as installing them is concerned.

Thanks!

I believe the bumps are just mold marks and don't mean anything.

Thanks and that's a good thing because I installed them anyway. One side with the bump to the back and one side with it to the front. That way if I screwed it up I only had to redo one...lol.
