New addition to the 2 stall garage

Well, I now know I am nuts. I just bought a 948 Herald. I now have a 70 GT6, 63 Spitefire and now this Herald. What the real issue is, is that I only have a 2 stall garage and my wife gets one stall in the winter and I get her stall in the summer for the motorcycle. Needless to say the motorcycle has been sitting out lately.

I got this Herald with a new rebuilt spitfire engine. So engine work is something it doesn't need yet. But right now I am putting U joints into it.

Why when you take stuff apart in the order the manual says and then try and put it back together in the reverse order it never works. Do the guys in who write the manual ever really try and put it back together? They tell you to put it back in the opposite order when done installing the U joints. HA

This car had been sitting in someones garage since 1974 until this guy bought it 2 years ago. The body is in really good shape. The only issue I can find are the 2 outriggers that hold the radius arms are rusted through in spots. The engine that was in it was rusted and the guy bought a new spitfire engine instead and had it totally rebuilt. From good advice from a member on the forum I will also need to find and replace the diff with a 4.11 diff. And of course all the rubber seals around the windows, under the roof and around the trunk and doors are old and brittle.

I just thought I would have to share my new find with everyone and let you know that I will be asking a lot of questions.

Well here are some pictures that I got from the guy who I bought it from. Not very good yet but better then nothing.

I not sure I got the picture uploaded on in here correctly. I guess I will submit this and see what happens. If no picture sorry.

If the lift came with the car, your storage concerns are abated!! LoL

Hello Tom, my name's Nick and I have Triumphs!!

It is rather an addiction I think. I have four Triumphs, but only one is on the road. You can't have too many, though! I have a single garage at the house, rent a lock-up in the next town and rent a barn on a local farm. Our every-day cars live on the street.

Your Herald looks very nice and solid. I look forward to seeing more pictures of it.

Nifty! We've always thought a Herald would be great fun. Very jealous! Enjoy!
