Ray - where do you get the cool doggie goggles? I want a pair or two!

They are avialable at some large pet stores (a local Petsmart had a pair) and I got the original pair online. Google "Doggles" and you'll get a bunch of hits. My dog wears the largest size.

Max has been wearing his for two years and he does gather attention. Funny part is, he likes 'em. We used to ride late every afternoon during the summer around a ten mile (starting at my house) country loop. The bugs were bad and Max would often wind up with an eyefull. You ever try to get a 95 lb Boxer to sit still for Visene? YES, I said 95 lbs...biggest registered Boxer my vet has ever seen.

Anyway, when we get in the car now, it's common practice for Max to lean over and wait for me to strap on the Doggles. You will notice that they have a strap that goes below the muzzle and that the eye cups are extra deep. I got the idea one day when there was a heavy hatch going on near the river we cross on our ride. I had an extra pair of my sunglasses in the car, so I put them on him. He wore them all the way home. We tried it again the next day but they blew off...that's when I went online and found the Doggles.

Thanks Ray, I just did a search & found them at Target.
There's a target right behind my work so I will go take a look today!

We have the nicest day for the month of June today so I would like to get my boy out in the car with the top down, that would be a lot of fun!

I haven't weighed him lately, his sire was also large - went by the name Tuxedo (a champion). He's due for a vet visit so I suppose we'll do it then. He has a huge head, so hopefully they will have the large size doggles there today.

LBC & Doggie Picture thread will be on its way soon!

Sorry for this distraction OP

I'll try to get a LBC doggie picture this weekend!

In college I had a 442 convert. and a Scarlet Macaw (large red/yellow/blue parrot). I'd put a hockey stick between the headrests and drive around with her there! Got lots of looks, it was fun! No pics of that though...

YAY! More Alfisti! :smirk:

... I'd be all for the '67 no matter WHAT the later car had. The '67 is lower, lighter, simpler. More easily worked on IMO. Interior panels/trim are different between them, I just prefer the toggle switch cars. Aluminum bonnet intact?

I really don't get the lower, lighter, simpler deal between the two? I haven't seen enough differences on this thread fo it ot make a difference. and yeah, toggles are cooler

I'm picking up the '67 on Saturday, but I might just back out of the deal since I really don't need two and the '69 is already a runner, the '67 has an inerior that I'd probably sell to pay for the rebuild on the engine in the '67 if I'd keep it. Already decided the '69 is in good enough shape that a donor car is not needed.

Maybe I'll take photos of the '67 on Saturday, post them and see if anyone on the BB wants the "more desirable" car at the more desirable price. Who's looking for nice rust free, California car? needs an engine rebuild?

I'd be careful about the dogs as a passengers since someone might mistake them for the "girlfriend". If you do happen to pick up on someone with the dog in the car, who gets to sit between the seats and work the stick shift??

Not to be snooty here but highjacking a post for photos of dogs in cars is a bit much. And then asking where to buy googles at Kmart? I'm new to the British BB so don't scare me too much.

Now if it was girls in cars, that would be totally different!!! Is there a thread for that? After all why do we have sports cars????

Sorry abbeyroad69 (no name?) that we hijacked your thread; you are right, our bad. We should start another thread. I suppose all of us, myself included, get a bit lax from time to time about our net manners. I had a thread hijacked just last week...oh well...

LBC content - I'm with the '67 crowd...there's just something special about those earlier cars, whether you're talking first year GTs, pull handle Bs, or sidescreen Spridgets.

Abbyroad69,

Since we have broached the topic of the fairer sex....

I have started an analysis of the gender of respondents as I drive my A...

So far the ratio is 3 to 1.. that is three lovelies to one guy.....

As long as my wife is not in the car... no worries... :smirk:

Yeah, it's most likely that whole "married with children and approaching (or past) the 50 year old" stage - so taking the dog out for a ride is just about as much fun as an old guy can allow himself...

OK - new thread for pets & MG's started.

If you want a "MG's & girls" thread you will have to start it on your own, I'm way too married for that

Rick,

I am not too married... I remember that I should look at beautiful ladies... I just do not remember why... :smirk:

I kinda LIKED th' photo of Max. And I certainly appreciate th' "doggles" info.

Only objection I can see is th' CAR...

This is th' ~MG~ forum ferheavens'sake!

From toggles to goggles, then Doggles and back to toggles...it is all good fun ;-)

But do chick really dig old MGs ??? HMMMMM

I take my attack killer weinerdog for rides in the B...but her ears beat her up so I think she likes the CGT better as shecan ride all the way in the back, watch traffic and yap without her ears being a problem

<trying to get this thread back on the spool.... >
Any chance of being able to have them both?? You mentioned a 3rd car, possibly for parts...

Decided not to get the '67 donor. The '67 is in great shape for 40 years old, Calofornia car, liitle to no rust in the usual places. Interior is 40 years old but is still usuable as is, if you want to sit on 40 year old sagging seats.

Anyway the '67 has a blown engine from over revving, so its been sitting for several years, lots of cob webs. The engine is ceased and doesn't turn.

The owner has the car listed on ebay and can be had for $800!!!

I've too many Euro play cars to pick up another project besides the '69 I already have, plus a '69 Alfa duetto track car, '83 GTV6 street/track car, wifes, '98 bmw 328i.

MGB experts, where is the best place to bolt in an Autopower roll bar? Floor seems a bit too flimsy? Where are the best attachment points?? How about attachment points for a cage?

Couldn't find any info while doing a search on MGB.

Ooooh. You really ARE a masochist! '69 Duetto and you're RACING it?!? Wow... "What b**** he has!"

Know anyone who wants a set of heads for a 2.5 V6?

Duetto is Vintage "gentleman racing". You can still pick up a runner Duetto in California for $7k. Check out craiglist.

2.5 liter heads? anything done to them that makes me want to buy? price?

Can't seem to locate that auction.
