I wouldn't expect anything else from West Virginia.

Ah, didn't realize the West Virginia connection - but then wouldn't it make more sense to go whole hawg

Lengthening the car 6 inches. I havent been under it yet. Taking my time. how about a front end extension and move all steering and suspension forward? thats how I would do it even though I dont think I will. I am comptiplating a "sort of" rear ladder bar system. Just to try it...putting a great amount of torque from the mid section of the car to the ground BEHIND the rear wheels. Just as a shock absorber Mind you this is all still in a serious brain storm right now. Sort of intergrating a ladder in a wheelie bar sort of thing. OH im gonna break something for sure...lol
I am gonna go with an entirely different rear of course and am hoping to figure a wide fit that looks comfortable
As for foot room, I will definately have to go to a 2 pedal setup. whether its an automoatic or otherwise.
also been thinking of a full frontal hood setup,,,fenders and hood hinged at front position. anyone done it on a midget yet?
I am so sure I will shoot down 75% of my own ideas as I get into this car but these are just some thoughts!
PLEASE dont no one go nuts on me for having crazy ideas and choppin stuff. This is how i work. Ive done a lot of suff everyone says cant be done. Makes me happy that way

Heh - as many people here told me once or twice:

Dude, it's your car - do what makes you happy.
Don't expect everyone to agree with your vision, just remember it's your vision.

:iagree: your car your choice. in reality there is likely only five or six concours accurate cars on this forum. the rest are all mutts to a greater or lesser extent. Even though it's not a conversion I would do, I certainly will interested to see what you do with yours.

BTW forward tilt is not difficult - fenders unbolt from car and bolt to hood. voila! somone around here has done it. Or, you can always put a bugeye hood on as it is one piece - it's also a straight bolt on with only the slightest of mods - you have to grind down a flange

bottom line go for it but keep us informed!

The lower power NASCAR cars use short arm rear suspension. The high power NASCAR cars use a long arm suspension. I would pick up a suspension set up book for hints and theory.

i agree with the comments about using a 4 banger in lieu of the V8. I would think a sprite powered by a SVT focus engine would be very cool...plus I think you can get an adapter to convert the drivetrain to RWD....

I would think that the added weight of the V8 plus the issues of potentially having a higher center of gravity, weight bias being moved forward.....just could really fowl the handling of the car.

Like its been said, its your vision....for me, Im going with a rev happy mazda 12a rotary...small physical size, similar weight to the original A-series.

Just my .02

Go for it!! All the naysayers here don't seem to realize that sometimes you've gotta do something "just cuz I wanna".
